I just got a Galaxy S3 and a nexus 7 tablet. On the Nexus tablet when I swipe up google now appears with the cards, etc but if I say some simple commands like "how far is it to New York", all it does is a google search for the phrase "how far is it to New York".

On my phone, which has "S-Voice" in behaves just like the video samples I see where asking that same phrase just shows what you spoke and then answers both audibly and visually with 2461 miles and if you click more you get weather, us map etc. This is how I thought Google Now works also but mine just seems like a google voice search, what am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Try saying a city in New York. Like "How far is it to Syracuse. NY". When I do that I get a map that I can click on for directions. Maybe you need to have your GPS on?

No, it's not that, I have been playing with it all morning and now I can ask the same qestion and sometimes I get the nice voice response, map, etc, other times just a google search....very odd

Also, I have gone into settings and turned google now off and back on. "I'm in"

Lastly, when the behavior begins, asking for the closest something or send text, etc....all result in a standard google search of the phrase
