Trouble With Sleep of Death on EB01/SuperClean 2.x?

I tried Superdark and still got the SOD. Maybe my phone just doesn't like superclean.

With and without the clock, still froze.

Um ok reading this makes me think did i do somthing right or wrong i havnt had this problem at all should i worry that it will start or just go with it and not worry about it at all.

Its not a problem everyone is having... not sure of the cause yet but if u been runnin s.c w no prob for atleast a day or two u should be safe as the problem was a right off the bat thing for me not a development over time but I can't speak for everyone else on that

You are right. This problem, for me, takes several hours to occur, but once it does, it continues until I restore a previous Rom.

After installing the super dark theme, I'm well into my 3rd day of no SOD. I have no clue why this seems to be b the cure.

So is SOD a problem for everyone that most are just dealing with or is this unique to certain devices? I got tired of waiting for 2.2 so after much educating, decided to go with Adrynalyne's Superclean ROMs since I like the idea of it being stripped down as well as the fact that I since I'm new at this it could be done with Odin. I started with SC 2.4 after a factory reset and am now running 2.6. I absolutely love the stock android and how smooth my phone runs, but with my job I can't afford to deal with SOD especially since my phone is my alarm clock.

I'm willing to try whatever it takes to keep running SuperClean and get rid of the SOD problem. I wanted to try the patch that started this thread however, being new, I was unsuccessful using CWM. I downloaded the .zip and put it on the root folder of my sd card and tried to select "install from sd card, but I was unable to go further.

None of the stickies seem to go into how to flash zips or themes, so if someone could assist me in how to flash some of the different fixes, I would deeply appreciate it and I'm sure it would help others in the same boat.

Thanks for everything you guys do.

from the blue recovery screen, go down once to apply sdcard:update.zip. this should take you to the red cwm screen. then select install zip from sdcard.

Jus 2 clarify.... When in blue cwm use the home icon to select and when in red cwm use the power button 2 select after u select install zip from sd in red cwm scroll 2 the zip file n hit power button then scroll down 2 yes install w.e the zip file is n hit the, power button 2 select... Wen install is complete use the menu button 2 go back 2 home page of red cwm n select reboot now... Wait for ur fone 2 reboot n u r done... Rebooting may take awhile depending on wat u installed so dnt panic if it takes 5-10 min rebooting sometimes after Fresh instal of something...also the patch hasn't been wrking 4 ppl as far as I kno so if u have SOD flash a theme preferably superdark as we kno this theme fixes this bug

Thank you both so much. That was incredibly easy. I wish I could sticky your post for others.

Based on your feedback, I went with superdarkEB01 Ver. 3 to see if that fixes it. I'll hold off on the patch unless this doesn't work. Fingers crossed...

Just out of curiosity...are you using Beautiful Widgets or a similar app? I did a LOT of troubleshooting for the SOD (different roms, themes, apps, widgets, status bar clocks, etc.). The only thing that I found that reliably induces SOD for me is Beautiful Widgets. I have no idea why it causes if for me, but without it I can run any combination of rom, apps, themes, etc. Currently running SC 2.6 NV, Nitro Dark v1.0 theme and haven't had an SOD since I quit using BW about 5 days ago.

I have never used beautiful widgets... I use animated weather 4 my main home screen clock but I haven't hsd SOD on any themes since sc 2.5(these themes include superdark v2-3, honeycomb 2.x, and I am now running nitro dark v1 w no problems

I'm on 2.6 and running beautiful widgets, no SOD here.

Well...found out today what's causing it for me. I started getting sod again after I added the Weatherbug Elite widget. Was running fine, then I switched off the gps to save battery while I was at work and sod hit me big time. Seems to be related to location aware apps and turning off gps. For some reason, both BW and WBE seem to insist on finding my current location despite setting location manually in the settings. Anyway, at least for me, once sod sets in the ONLY way to get rid of it is to do a data/cache wipe and reflash the rom. Reflashing the rom without a complete reset doesn't work (at least for me). Once I do that, everything is fine with no sod's. I'm able to use any combination of rom/kernel/theme without problems as long as I don't use any apps that use gps location or turn off the gps while using them. That basically means no widgets or apps that periodically update my location unless I'm willing to leave the gps on all the time.

Every superclean rom I have flashed, along with dark revenge and black hole has given me SOD issues. I finally just odined to stock eb01 debloated/deodexed, flashed eb01 voodoo kernel and have had No SOD. I am running a rEVOlution theme as well

Same here. I pretty much gave up on SC. I have found running the rotary lock had cause some issues with base ed01. Not sure if that is the issue, but could be.

Think I may have found the issue with the SOD. It might have something to do with the lock screens. I ran the recent 5 love screens, before the 6 lock came out and started having the issue on a stock rom. I flashed and removed the 5 locks and I am no longer having this problem. I have not had time to check this on a customer Rom, but I will try to do that shortly and report back for all those who have tried, but still get the SOD, give this a shot and see if it works.
