Trouble With Sleep of Death on EB01/SuperClean 2.x?

Try to go back to EB01 and install the EC10 Kernel. I gave up on the superclean. Maybe try to Run Blackhole ROM. I have not tried that yet (no time), but maybe you can give it a shot and see if that ROM works for you.

To completely rid my phone of force closes and SOD I actually did the folowing. (These are the exact same files I used and while it seems like a bit of work it was worth it to have Froyo with SC 2.9.2 and ZERO problems.)

1. Flashed back to DI01 (Android 2.1) via Odin. DI01package3.tar
2. Update to EA28 Via Verizon OTA.
3. Wiped Dalvik Cache, regular Cache, and factory wiped
4. Flashed Debloated/Deodexed Froyo Leak+root+Froyo Clockworkmod via Odin.EB01DB_DXC.tar
5. Flashed Super Clean version 2.9.2 - EB01/EC10 Froyo leak root+Froyo Clockworkmod with MALWARE protection Via Odin. EC10SC292x_DXC.tar
6. Installed SuperDark V3 Theme. Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites!

Thanks to both of you. I will try SuperDark first, I think over what I have. If it still happens, I'll once again go all the way back and follow your procedure, Yellow. I've done basically the same steps already, and it didn't help, but heck...it may be worth another try. If I only get back to the same place where I am now, nothign lost but some time.

Speaking of time, since it's 12:10 AM, and I had to work all day today...I'm tired! I'm going to bed and will give this a shot tomorrow night.

I jsut wish VZW/Samsung with COME ON ALREADY, with the final Froyo build!!

Bruce. I had gone back to stock froyo and the problem persisted. going all the way back to 2.1 is what changed to fix my issue. (also I am running all my normal apps and ADW Launcher with no issues. Which means ADW wasn't my problem.

I actually went back to 2.1 did the ota reflashed d/d 2.2 and then super clean then super dark.

I still get a sod. Give it a try. It might work for you. not everyone has as deep as my sod is.

Ok...i tried your procedure again, yellow, with one small difference. When i went to 2.9.2, i used the voodoo version, then downloaded SuperDark. Now, it'l just be a matter of seeing if it dies on me or not.

if this doens't screw up on me, I'll download Launcher Pro. it was included in the last theme I tried and i grew to like it.

I'll report tomorrow night what happens.

Well, so far (keeping my fingers crossed), I've not had a SoD issue today. I've used more battery than I did before (but not as bad as the debloated/deodexed ROM), but that could be because I kept checking to see if it died! LOL

I'm now going to install NoLED and try that for a while tomorrow. In my grasping at straws, I want to make sure it wasn't NoLED causing it for me.

We'll see what happens! Thanks again to everyone that helped! I LOVE this board!

If you didn't have it all day you are most likely in the clear.

I also had some battery drain with SC 2.9.2 untill I reset my battery stats using a terminal emulator. (Download a terminal emulator from the market, type SU and approve super user access, the type bstats. Your phone will reboot and this will reset the Android battery statistics.)

This fixed my battery drain issue.

And that's done with a full battery, right?

Yes, full battery. Go to Gunnermike53's battery thread HERE Follow steps 1-4 in post #2, make sure you follow the proper charging instructions above step 1, and after following the steps and rebooting your phone, let it run down to about 5% battery with normal usage, then charge uninterrupted to 100%.

Thanks, Shark, Yellow, Mike...and all! I'll do that right now, as I think my phone should be charged up already!

I've just recently started experienced the SOD. I believe something happened when I went from MIUI to SC292. So if I am following this procedure, do I let the phone boot imbetween each step?

Thanks

And i can verify what he is saying...as far as the procedure. I was having a FIT with the SoD and following that procedure eliminated it for me (still holding my breath! LOL)

WOO HOO! 2 whole days and no Sod!! Thanks to everyone that's helped me through my issues.

I wanted to check back in and say that this too worked for me. It has been over a full day now without a SOD.

Thanks for your help!

before doing all this did u try just flashing superdark because this is what cured my SOD back when 2.x started coming out. I havent had SOD since sc 2.4 and have been runnin multiple themes (mostly by nitroglycerine) and still no SOD... I'm just throwing out the possibility that ur final step, flashing superdark may have cured ur SOD not going back to DI01 because i followed these steps (pre sc 2.4) minus flashing superdark and still had SOD until i flashed superdark. I dont know what cured my problem totally because ever since 2.6 ive even been able to run no theme w.o an SOD

I am going to try these steps tonight. So let me check, when I get the ea28 ota, I need to install cwr, correct? That is the only way to wipe all the cache correct?

Is the 2.9.2 a voodoo or non voodoo? I am still not comfortable trying the voodoo yet.

2.9.2 comes in both voodoo and nonvoodoo flavours
