I called the closest vzw store today to see if they had any demo models of the Droid Razr yet. When I asked the salesman said ?we haven't carried the Razr for several years." I had to explain I was referring to the new Razr.

I have yet to meet a cellphone salesperson that knows half of what we forum users have known for weeks. I actually have a friend that services big box retailers like Best Buy amd she sometimes comes to me for info. I feel bad for their sales force from phone techs to store managers to CSR's. They Ds the last to know amd it makes them seem stupid and unreliable.

think of it this way....these people are working their jobs. They aren't necessarily tech geeks. I, like many of you, check the web everyday for updates and rumors because i'm interested. If i wasn't interested then i would have no clue what was going on....even if it was my job.

and lets face it....no matter what your job is, sometimes people just SUCK at it lol

Seems like most people work a job they are not interested in. We should all switch up.

I have a friend that does gov. sales for Verizon in DC. He isn't that interested in what's going to be coming out, just what is currently out.

I don't know... I look at how much they make, compare it to how much I make... I think I'll keep my job and just put up with their ignorance and talk to my friends at ac once in a while to get caught up! ;)

If you do what you love the money will follow. My buddy I mentioned doing government sales makes 6 figures. You may make more but I would be content with that income.....

I remember when he was in store normal consumer sales when we were in high school (13 years ago) and he was making 50k back then. That was alot for our age in those years!

I hear you. I guess I was gearing that more towards the drones in the stores.

Oh, I agree with you. I blame the company for not arming their employees with enough information to keep the irrate customers at bay. I check tech sites daily for news and rumors, but confirmed news should be passed down to the face to face associates so they will know as much or more than the customers they are dealing with on their product lines.

As for people not liking their jobs................don't even get me started on book store employees. I used to enjoy liesurely looking around a book store, back when people could alphabatize and categorize books, it is an Amazon world for me now.......but I digress.

Speaking of book stores, I remember when a Borders closed not too long ago here in Chicago. The last couple days they were open there was a sign that read: No public restroom...try Amazon. Thought that was great. Back on topic, I think the reps on the phone for Verizon are much nicer and more knowlegeable than people in the stores. Although the guys in my Verizon store were aware of the new RAZR.

you would think the the guys on the phone at the very least had access to a computer and could spit out canned statements on their screens... the guys in the store have to pull a lot of what they say out of their backsides unless they take the time to go look at a computer screen.
