trusted device...Vivo Smart

Just got my wife a moto x 2nd. I was bragging about how well the trusted device works. So I set up her Vivo Smart and it doesn't show up in the bluetooth list and therefore Trusted devices doesn't work for the Vivo Smart. Is this normal? Is anybody else usining a Vivo as a trusted bluetooth device?

Fitness bands don't usually keep an "always on" bt connection, they just connect periodically to sync data.

Just wondering if it was set up using the Garmin Connect Mobile app from the Google Play store? I have a Garmin 220 and had to pair it using the app after not being able to see it on my Moto X.

I was attempting to pair my wife's car and the Vivosmart suddenly showed up in the bluetooth list. So now it works with smart lock.
