Trying to migrate game and app data from Galaxy S22+ to Pixel Pro XL

Wife just got a Pixel 9 Pro XL yesterday and is pretty frustrated that none of her game data came over from her Galaxy. We used Android switch process to move everything, and the only stuff that actually came back were the apps themselves. No app data at all. I've read that being logged into Google Play on both devices with the same account should have moved some games' data, but it did not. Does anyone know how to get the game app data transfered?

That would require your wife to have logged in with her Google Play Games account on those games on the Samsung phone originally -- has she? Not all games have an option for syncing with Google Play Games (like Netflix games, for example, although those games sync with the user's Netflix account).

If the games don't have the option to sync with Google Play Games (or if the game has already been played significantly without having first logged into Google Play Games), then you won't be able to cloud sync that progress. Some games might have an obvious Saved Game file in the game's data directory, but on more recent Android versions, access to those kinds of directories is mostly locked down.

I'm no expert on any games and what could save across devices, Samsung uses Smart switch not sure if that would help when copying over to the new phone
