Trying to update rooted phone to VD baseband updater wont work

Hi I'm wanting to install CM7 onto my optimus S, but need to update to the VD baseband first. My phone is rooted and when I try to do the OTA update, it aborts. As per recommendation I've downloaded the lgMobile support tool, but it shows that the phone is VC and says it is up to date


Am I doing something wrong or am I just screwed? I even tried to just use VCrom, but the DL links are broken.

go back to stock recovery, and unroot your phone and try again

use the revert option in my signature, make sure to force flash VC *(your current version)

Need to follow the instructions on how to return to stock recovery and stock rom. Its in the roms and hacks section.
EDIT: Then update, then root again. Then flash custom recovery. Then flash cm7 rom.
