Turn of Google Now notifications but still use reminders?

Hi,

I love Google Now's side screen (to the left of the home screen) and love the reminders feature. But I hate that every time I open the notification shade there's a stupid notification that's telling me the weather, or my travel home time. Is there a way to turn these off without affecting reminders, and keeping travel time and weather on the Google Now screen?

You go under Google app's settings, Now Cards and disable Show cards. I guess that is what I have done. I still get the morning weather notification, which I like.

Edit: Hmm i think this will remove the travel time and weather. I also have location history disabled.
