I am wanting to use a droid golf GPS range finder app. Battery life is a real concern. Is there a way to turn off the phone radio but GPS still work?

In Wireless & Networks (in Settings), you can disable all data. Your data connection is going to use a lot of battery. As far as I know, the radio itself doesn't use a lot of power.

So, uncheck Enable Always-on Mobile Data? What about Mobile Network?

Thanks for the hint; I'll give it a try and see if I can find some sort of battery use history app.

Just go to Settings -> Mobile Networks, and uncheck Data Enabled. You'll still be able to get and make phone calls, but the mobile data will be disabled.

I think you can just turn on airplane mode, and GPS will stay on. If not, try turning it on after putting the phone in airplane mode.

/that's rght. Put it in airplane mode, then turn on gps. Also, if you do this and turn om wifi you'll get the non-at&t android market, too!
