turn off YouTube app?

Is there any way to do that besides going to settings-apps-force stop?
I don't like just pausing it. As often as not it starts playing in my pocket or the car.

I ended up uninstalling the app and just watching from the browser. Now I don't get the embedded ads any more (with adblocker on)....
