I bought a iOttie One Touch for my Pixel 4a.
I've been researching dash cams and watching reviews when it dawned me that I might be able to turn my Pixel 4a into a dash cam for my Honda Element. So I searched if there are any Android apps that would do the trick. After doing that search I found a highly recommended app... "Droid Dashcam" (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.helge.droiddashcam ). I used it this weekend and I was so impressed that I donated to the developer, which helps the developer and removes ads It has so many settings and features that I'm still tweaking it.
Looking at the reviews it appears the developer responds very quickly.
The only small complaint is the GPS takes a few seconds to lock on (showing my couch is traveling around .5 mph). It does settled down and when driving is accurate.
I've only been able to use it a couple of times so I'll be updating this thread as time goes by.

Why are these unneeded access permissions for?
Microphone access, for what?
Reading the phones shared storage, why?

Most dashcams have the audio recording ability. You can even use the selfie camera to record the inside for various purposes, like car karaoke type fun (not my cup of tea).
I imagine shared files let you save a recording to Google Photos or any other cloud based storage you might have.
You can always turn off those permissions.

The app isn't needed to use a selfie camera, that's disingenuous.
The audio should be 'opt in', not 'eavesdrop by default'.
Do you sell this data, or is it necessary for the app to record video, smh?

Just turn off those permissions that bother you or don't use the app. Your choice.

Thanks for letting me know it's my choice.
My reply is because the permissions are buried on another screen, and they are not needed for the applications stated purpose.
Noticed that you did not respond to Who do you Sell the info to, interesting.
But don't worry, I did delete it.

You must have a reading comprehension problem? I'm not the developer.
