Turning off after pressing home button - Samsung Galaxy S4

[AC Question]

Hello,
my mum has a problem on her Samsung Galaxy S4 and I can't really help her without holding the phone physically. I am on my holidays and if I (or someone here) will not be able to solve the problem, she will have to go to repair it. Which cost money as you know. So I wonder if anyone had this problem and can help me (her).
The only description I have is that the phone is turning off after each pressing of the home button. The phone is not rooted, so it's not switched with the power button.

Welcome to Android Central. Is it turning off or going to the lock screen? Are you sure she know which is power and which home? How long has this been happening?
