Turning off ATT Address Book?

Whenever I try to open my Contacts, the "AT&T Address Book" application opens first. It takes forever to load. All I want to do is open my contacts. Is there a way to disable this application without also disabling my contacts? I don't see AT&T Address Book listed as an application.
I use Straight Talk on AT&T as my carrier, so I'm not strictly an AT&T customer. I rooted my phone, but I don't yet want to install a custom ROM if that's what it takes. I've only had the phone for a week and I want to give "stock" a longer try before I change anything.

I rooted my G2 specifically to uninstall all the att bloatware and most of the LG bloat. I completely deleted att address book from the phone. I am running the factory ROM minus the bloat. Works perfectly.

The ATT Address Book was listed as a system app under Titanium Backup Pro. I couldn't find it listed anywhere else on the phone--it did not show up under "apps." I uninstalled it using Titanium Backup. I probably should have tried "freeze" first, because uninstalling it also deleted all my contacts (LOL). I was able to copy all my contacts from my old phone to the LG G2, so now I do have my contacts list but no ATT Address Book. Not an elegant solution, but it worked.
I used a program called MobileTrans for Windows from Wondershare to copy my contacts and apps from my old phone to the LG G2. The downside for MobileTrans is that it's not free--about $20 (depending upon how I accessed the website, the price was listed anywhere from $19.95 to $39.95). I understand you can sync contacts to Gmail, but I've never been able to figure out how. I've tried following the Gmail help, but to no avail. Does anyone know of detailed, step-by-step directions on how to sync contacts to and from Gmail for someone who feels like a noob when trying to do it?

I used Clean Master to completely delete it.

I've always used Easy Uninstaller to uninstall apps, but Easy Uninstaller didn't list ATT Address Book. I have Clean Master installed on my phone, but I've never really used it, so I didn't think to try it. If and when I decided to uninstall the other bloatware, I'll use Clean Master.

I was surprised at how much Clean Master let me delete. It will ask you for root permission when you launch the app, after that it's on!!

At first NO!! I saw a decrease in battery life. I did a factory reset about a week later and my battery life improved drastically!! This weekend I unplugged the phone on Saturday morning and when I went to bed Sunday evening it was still at 27%. That's 36 hrs of moderate use on 73% of the battery.

Dear User,
If you want to disable your AT&T Address book go to the settings>apps>all apps and disable all services running in the AT&T address book app. So you can easily access your contact directly with out loading the AT&T address book.
