Turns on only when plugged in, Battery status different percentage

Just yesterday my battery status kept going from 100% to 1% and back to 100% again and it would turn off. Also it will only power on when plugged to charger

This makes me think there's something malfunctioning with the battery. Either it's not connected or it isn't holding any charge. How long have you had the device? Have you dropped it recently?

I have it had 2 years and I have been having problems with the battery draining quickly. This new problem just started yesterday.

I'd guess the battery's time is up, then. Sorry. It definitely sounds like a hardware issue.

Depends on what you can buy it for and what it will take to replace the thing. I don't know how easy it is to replace the battery on your device, but if it's 2 years old, you may be better off getting a tablet that won't have something else go wrong with it soon, if that makes sense.
