TUTORIAL: Downgrade Samsung Galaxy S5 from 5.0 to 4.4 KitKat

I've tried three times to downgrade my wife's AT&T S5. It keeps failing in Odin. Here is the log:

<OSM> G900AUCU1ANCE_G900AATT1ANCE_G900AUCU1ANCE_HOME.tar.md5 is valid.

Hopefully someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong here.

I have exactly the same problem. Please help!

Sammobile does not seem to offer the kitkat download for verizon phones anymore? Searching for the sm-g900v gets no results. Even if I force the link Firmware for Samsung SM-G900V - SamMobile it only gives the lollipop and no valid links for the kitkat. Does anyone know another reputable source for it?

Your link above, displays 2 * Android 4.4.2 and 3 * Android 4.4.4 firmwares for the Verizon, G900V, all of which are KitKat!!!

Have checked all 5 downloads and they are all working fine.

This tutorial is avalable with branded firmware ? From lolipop 5.0.2 to kitkat 4.4.4 vodafone branded ?

Hi, I have the last 5.0 unlocked carrier but says XEF on CSC phone is the SM-G900F 2KAXEF and I want rollback to 4.4.2 to make root with towelroot
my question is my firmware says 5.0 - G900FXXU1BOE5 and the firmwares avaitables to download says:
4.4.2 - G900FXXU1ANCE, G900FXXU1ANE2, G900FXXU1, G900FXXU1ANG9 and G900FXXU1ANJ1
I can use for example the ANCE (last than June) assuming I have the BOE5 ? I'm so afraid of briking this :-X

You do not need to roll back to 4.4.2 or use Towelroot to root the international G900F model. It does not have a locked bootloader. You just need to flash the appropriate CF-Root kernel.

I accepted another over the air verizon update just a few days ago because lollipop is so ******* bad how could it be worse, not sure if that update is causing this method to fail for me?

thanks

If you are at present, running the latest, U.S. carrier, Verizon OE1 firmware on model G900V you will be unable to downgrade your firmware at all and particularly to Android 4.4.2, to root your phone thanks to Verizon's own new and unique bootloader. See, here.

It would appear that Verizon does not allow you to... refuse an update... downgrade from an update or... want you to root their phones!

WARNING! Verizon are rolling the OE1 update out to customers and unless you are already rooted and have disabled OTA updates, there is no way of stopping it.

"You will be assimilated! Resistance is futile!"
(The Borg)

Thanks Verizon... welcome to, "the land of the free!"

Does that mean I'm totally screwed, is there no way to get on some version of android 4? I don't care about root I just can't take lollipop anymore

Verizon have only released 5 KitKat firmwares for 4.4.2 and 4.4.4...

NCG

NE9

NHA

NI2

NK2

You have tried 2, unsuccessfully, already and we are told that NCG is a no go, So that only leaves NHA and NI2 left to try.

I thinking downgrade first because towelroot knox stay 0x0
I´ll try the FW G900FXXU1ANCE

You DO NOT need to use Towelroot on the G900F model or downgrade as it does not have a locked bootloader. See my reply to you in post #189. Using CF-Root will not trip the Knox flag but a custom recovery will.
