I just upgraded to Oreo 8.0, and there are many changes I don't like. I just noticed in the Twitter app there is no more option to change/select a push notification sound?? Am I missing something???

It's gotten a lot more of a personalization upgrade with Oreo. You go into settings>apps>app notifications. You should be able to set a separate notification sound from that menu. That goes for most apps now. Each app could have a different notification sound. I don't have any social media accounts so it might be a little different. But as far as all my apps, that's how I set notification sounds.

Wow, Ok I located the sound settings now. That helps lol. Thank you!

One trick to this I found after some struggle: if you want change the notification sound, you still can't see how to do this from just looking at all those notification categories if their "Importance" is set to "Low" or "Medium" because no "Sound" option appears. First you have to change the "Importance" of each category (or the category you want to change) to "high". (Mine was set at Medium for some reason.) So after you travel through Settings>Apps>Twitter>App Info> Notifications, you first look at the category, such as "Tweets from people you follow" to see if it says "High: sound" under it. If it says "Low" or Medium", tap on that category, tap on "Importance" to open those options, and select "High". The little status line will now read "High: sound". When you back out of the "Importance" screen to the "Notification category" screen, voila! The "Sound" option has appeared, and you can click on it and adjust it in the usual way. Repeat for all categories you want to change the sound for. Special thanks to whoever made this so obscure.

That's a good tip, thank you.

Go to Android Settings > Apps > Twitter > App notifications > then tap on each one of those types of notifications to access where to change the ring tone (don't tap on where to enable to disable, tap on the actual notification itself). Each one can have a different ring tone if you want.

I want to make all Twitter notifications silent but keeping the vibration and screen pop-up. Back on nougat, I could just set the notification sound to "silent" and be done. Is there a simple way to do this on oreo or do I have to go in each channel one by one and change each sound? That would be tedious
