they ain't perfect either.
A quick recap. After waiting many months for Verizon to release the droid of my dreams, it has released two "dream" phones in under 3 business days (the Raxr and the Rezound) with the third (Galaxy Nexus) a few short days away.
So what of the first two from my layman's perspective? Very nice but not enough to seal the deal.
The Razr - a beautiful phone, good looking screen, nice user interface and excellent accessories (although i am purchasing my phone to be a phone and not a laptop or car gps). It is not much different from the Bionic except for a nicer screen and probably some stuff i dont recognize or think that important.
The Rezound - a very nice looking device with a killer screen - much nicer than the Razr. I am amazed that the Razr did not have the HD 720p screen - in fact shocked. The difference is significant and since i will spend more time looking at it than any other function outside of it being my cell phone it is a big advantage. I also believe the Galaxy Nexus will have the same HD 720p screen. Again, color me perplexed why the Razr is devoid of obviously available and superior screen technology. the other thing about the Rezound is the Beats audio and earbuds - great marketing, but again i have a 10 gig ipod that is ancient but still functioning. Not a bad user interface, perhaps not as good as the Razr but the screen again is the huge difference and in my opinion the game changer.
That being said, neither phone is to die for and more than ever I am leaning towards the Galaxy Nexus. Given the HD screen, the new operating system, the fact that the entire device will be screen and other cool stuff - it is in my opinion in the drivers seat here. I am also intrigued about the NFC, the facial recognition, the beaming (loved that ability in my Palm Pilot) - again not primary concerns, just ancillary stuff. Lastly, if ICS is going to be the next operating system, it makes little sense to get a device that is not specifically built to take advantage of it - i think taking out the physical buttons and making the device all screen is an excellent use of limited real estate.
Anyhow.... one man's view of two out of three devices released.
thank you again for everybody's help and assistance along my travels from getting rid of my BB Storm 1 and reaching the Land of Droid.
