Two questions on mr2

I am tired of the shut downs on my phone. Considering the mr2 update but not sure how to do it properly. Says to download the update. Question 1...download it on phone or pc? Then it says to rename it and move it to root of sd card. How is that done?...Thanks for any help

Download it to your PC. Rename it according to the instructions. Connect your phone with the USB cable. Set it as a USB drive. Drag and drop your downloaded file onto the USB drive that is your phone. Disconnect. Shut off your phone. Hold down the power and volume down buttons until you see a white boot screen that looks like you did something wrong. Select HBoot or something similar...the one at the top of the list. It will find the downloaded file and flash it to your phone, which will seem as though it takes forever. Then it will be done. Awesomeness will now commence.

It is. And clearly, based on my instructions, I am tech-comfortable but not one of the hardcore ROM flashes in this forum. All I did was follow someone else's instructions.

FYI the prompt to select USB Mass Storage will appear on the phone's screen when you connect it to the computer.

Not necessarily. I have mine set to just charge by default.

Using clockwork recovery and some mighty fine instructions in rom & root land, it was 100% uneventful.

Now running MR2 & Flyweight and no brick.

In that case you should have had to turn on USB mass storage manuallu under settings.
