I know everyone is tired of hearing about battery issues with the s3 but I just have a question...

My wife just got the s3 and loves it... but shes not one to charge her phone every night and her phone will go from 80% to 10 or sometimes, like last night her phone actually died..

Im just curious if this is normal on the first couple of charges? We have strong lte coverage in our area, and the phone always has wifi on..

Also ive disabled as many apps as I can yhimk of and nothing has helped.

Ive included pics of the battery screens. Is this normal behaviour for standby?

Does anyone have any insight to this? At the current rate of discharge my wife's phone is going to die on just under 9 hours. That can't be normal. The phone is completely idle

I just got my own GS3 from Rogers and the battery drain while idle over the first night was a little over 1% per hour while I slept. This was with the phone connected to LTE and me receiving a couple of messages (text, whatsapp) as well as email.

I wouldn't expect the GS3 to last more then a day really under moderate usage. Even with no apps running and being conscious of battery conserving practices it will still drain. It's pretty normal it seems to be charging the GS3 every night, your wife might need to get into that habit :p

Download GSAM and see what it tells you is eating the battery up and then you can make proper adjustments.
Secondly I would install Juice Defender and Advanced Mobile Care.... With those 2 apps I usually get 20 hours or so with moderate to heavy usage including texts, calls, Facebook, Twitter and some browsing.

I'd just download gsam to see what's keeping it awake. As you can see her screen wasn't on much but the phone was kept awake a lot.

Someone else will have to tell you what to do, but I would try deep sleep battery saver
