UAG Plasma for the Note 8. As protective as Defender?

I've thought about mixing my cases up and I was wondering does the UAG Plasma offer nearly as good of protection as the Defender? On youtube someone did a drop test with their s8 multiple times in at and it withstood it.

On the Amazon reviews a couple complained about their screen cracking due to the lack of good side screen protection.

Would you take the UAG over the Defender?

I like UAG more. Slimmer and looks better. I don't like drop tests because they're kind of useless. There are too many variables at play for those to be worth while. Just my opinion

Honestly I'd take the Tech 21 evo check over both of those. I am really impressed with it

After looking at the UAG more, the bottom is too thin for the note 8 IMO.

While there are a lot of variables and each drop is unique some drop test videos are pretty thorough and show different scenarios. These two really sold me on the Tech21. I've also had a few drops with it including a face plant on tile and the case did it's job. I used to be a hardcore Otterbox believer however Tech21 has built a better product with a much better form factor

The Defender though has a more raised lip and camera protection than tech 21 which does not offer nearly as deep of a lip for screen protection or camera protection if dropped on uneven surface.

I did love the Extreme Tactical XT case for the Note 7 though. It is thicker than their Check case. However, they no longer make that line. The iphone 8 they make a Defender style case though but they have not extended it to the Samsung line which sucks. If they did I'd buy it.
