Ugly Orange Messages in Lollipop - How do you change it?

I have an LG G2, so maybe it won't work the same, but I also couldn't stand the new color and found my way to this forum. I may have found a solution, so I came back to hopefully give some reprieve to everyone's rods and cones... Try going to Settings>Accessibility>Color Adjustment. From there, you are supposed to slide your finger to change the contrast. I have not figured out how to get exactly the colors I want, BUT I do know that just by playing around with it, I have gotten rid of the hideous orange! Let me know if it works for you!

That orange has sent me running to Textra as well.

Not sure if I will stay with Textra because I do like the stock app, but I can't handle that orange. I wish Samsung would let you pick the color of your choice.

im loving the orange look. Plus the fonts and overall design of the app makes it look more "material" designed that goes along with the look of lollipop.

As a boy, it's harder to find an orange wallpaper that doesn't make me feel like I'm going full on Jenner.

It works after a fashion. Be advised that this changes colour across apps and not just the messaging app. At least it can be easily reset to the default.

That's exactly right. It changes colors in places I never even noticed... But, it is easy to set to a color scheme you can tolerate and even easier to turn off and on, at your leisure. It isn't ideal, by any means, and I wish we could have a setting to choose something more desirable, but the "work-around," if it can be called that, might at least keep some people from switching to the dreaded iPhone!

P.S. If it makes anyone feel any better, the orangish color on my LG is WAY worse than the true orange I'm seeing posted from Samsung owners! I would post a screenshot, if I didn't think it make someone physically sick.

So far I am staying with Textra. That Google orange and no way to change it is not cool.

I hate it too. After reading the posts in this thread I changed to handcent. Seems to work fine and solved the ugly orange problem.

Anyone know if the Samsung messaging app is fixed and works properly with Wear watches replying to messages?

Yes!!! It works great! It actually works better than Textra or any other third party messaging apps. So happy Samsung finally got around to doing this!

Yeah not liking the orange. I was never a fan of textra, chomp and all the rest, plus the stock message app can be used in dual screen. Might use hangouts for awhile or just try and get use to the orange.

Oh and hated how every text vibrated at first when I thought I had turned it off. Seems silly that the volume rocker or the main sound/notifications wouldn't turn off vibrate for messages, but instead you have to go into the menu for the app.

Texts no longer vibrated when not wanted....just everything else vibrates now

Use Google messenger. It's almost identical but it's blue. Texts change color depending on who you are texting

I just looked Messenger and though I like it, it does not have much in the way of options.

Played around with a bunch of messaging apps and kinda like Verizon messages. Probably use that or stick with the stock samsung
