UI Lag/Stuttering Over Time

So for long time LG users, is there any concerns over how the UI experience with be with the V30?

I've never owned an LG before, but having experience with Samsung, obvious eventual UI lag is extremely well known and an almost unavoidable issue with Samsung phones.

Do LG phones have a similar track record? Or will the V30 probably provide a smoother, Pixel/OnePlus kind of experience?

I had a v20 for about 6 months eventually yes it did slow down to a degree but no where near the experience that I have had with samsung. I have heard up until the recent update on the g6 it was running fantastic

They lag every generation, but lag less every generation. LG software gets better every time. Hopefully the SD 835 will placate any complaints I have with the SD820 because I'm pretty convinced I want the V30 instead of the OP5. Loving the screen:body ratio and I don't want to give up my wide angle lens.

EVERY phone from each manufacturer will slow down over time. I spent 4 years in a Verizon store, none of them are immune.

Removing junk from the phone and resetting it also fixed it for every brand.

It's no different than a computer.

Exactly...lag is rarely permanent, however some phones succumb to it sooner than others.

As others said, no phone/OS is immune. My wife had an iPhone that got unbearably slow after 18 months. On the contrary, my Droid Turbo is 3 years old and is just now starting to get laggy here and there.

Yeah, that happens to every phone. A little "house keeping" maintenance can get it right back up to speed. A full factory reset will make it as fast as day 1 if you're having real issues.

I've had a lot of LG phones and only the V10 gave me fits with lag or stutter. My G6 and V20 were excellent performers. Much quicker than their Samsung counterparts. The UI is ugly, but efficient.

Absolutely zero stutter or lag overtime. My V20 is almost a year old, never experienced lag or stutters (unlike Samsung and Apple). I personally think LG is an honest company and doesn't try to force people to upgrade by slowing down phones via OTA updates. I highly suggest turning OFF animations through developer settings, it's much faster. Coming from Samsung, I can assure you that LG's OS has better RAM management and is more efficient. Samsung has too much apps/services on running 24/7 in the background (S Health, S Pay, Samsung Account, etc. some you can't turn off)

I also have an old LG Optimus Fuel, 2.5 years old. Still functions like it should. I use the phone as a music player since it has a microSD. Battery still holds a charge. No bootloops, nothing. These are meant to last. LG is my new favorite brand after using Samsung, I feel LG is heading in the right direction and is much more innovative.

I've owned every major brand of cell phone and with cleaning cache and the routine reset once a year or so, I've yet to see "lag" that is inherent to any brand - LG or otherwise.

This just should not be anyone's concern for the V30 or any other device they are considering.

Samsung/Apple owners complain after 2-3 years, phone starts to slow down after updates. Note 4 has officially been put to rest and decommissioned. A number of iPads and MacBooks experienced the same thing, Apple pushing you to buy every 2-3 years when a laptop can last for a decade.

It's definitely a thing. Factory resets will only help for a while. I wonder if there is an issue where phone hardware just burns up eventually in such a that package. Then there is software that simply isn't written to work well with anything but the latest phones.

Whatever happened to that flavor of true linux that was gonna be able to install on older hardware, just like the PC format? Now that could put old phones back in play if my theory about aging hardware burning up is wrong.
