Hello everyone,

as you most probably know I received my Galaxy S4 today. I am trying my best to root it however nothing seems to be working at present.

I have downloaded "Odin3-v1.85" & "Odin3 v3.07" along with the "CF-Auto-Root......md5" file. Everything goes through great and Odin says that it has been a success however when I use Superuser it says; "The Superuser binary (su) must be updated. Please choose an installation method. Recovery mode installation is recommended for HTC devices." I have tried both update methods however is just sticks on; "Installing Superuser". When I try and run a app that requires rooting, for example; "Titanium Backup" it simply says; "Asking for root rights..." and does not progress any further.

On a side note, I keep getting a notification saying; "The device has detected an application attempting unpermitted actions." Then it asks me to reboot now or later.

Any ideas would be much appreciated, as I'm new to the rooting scene and I don't want to brick the phone when I haven't even had it a day. :)

I have attached three pictures if that helps.

Thanks.

Hello,

I don't mean to bump this post, but I'd imagine that there will be a lot of UK S4 users who must be in the same boat.

I've tried and tried, but it looks like I'm stuck at the last hurdle.

Regards,
Mike.

Had the same problem root it with I9505_CF_AUTO_ROOT_MODIFIED.tar.md5 instead of CF-Auto-Root-jflte-jfltexx-gti9505.tar.md5. but the notification is still there, very annoying.

Hello,

an option would be try to flash your S4 with a stock rom that is pre-rooted already, that's what i did.. was pretty easy using odin.

Hi Michael
Ive got the same setup as you
Did you manage to get it to work? and what method did you use?
Thanks Rob
