After a few days of trying and trying I finally got it using the V9 update (downgrade) only way to get it to work but wow this was great TY1) Radio Brick is not a Perma-brick? I managed to unbrick. Details from beezy soon
2) VC update cab does NOT overwrite recovery. I had my custom recovery after unbricking with VC cab. This is our surefire way to update to VC radio...
3) ..until I figure out how to flash it in Xionia CWMA. Being as it is not a perma-brick (though annoyingly time consuming still), I can test radio flashing more vigorously until I get it to work
4) This will double as a downgrader, including downgrading VC OTA back to V9 for root.
5) This will not replace my return to stock thread since it does not flash everything (recovery, cache, data, etc)
6) Radio unbricks will have a corrupt /cache
I go up to step 11 in the original post, but after clicking restart it then says "The USB cable and your cellphone are not connected. Please connect your phone and wait for connecting the USB port for a while and press the RESTART button." I've tried this 3 times but after hitting restart, I get the same message. I've tried everything from scratch (except for the files) 8 times but it still doesn't work! Help pls!:'(
I can't tell... I can only boot into recovery and Emergency Mode but I've tried everything through recovery to fix my phone and nothing works so I'm trying this. When I do a normal boot, it goes to recovery. Last time I can remember it working was a while ago... but I believe it was on.

i bought a used optimus s on ebay that I suspect was bricked. I have no idea what they did or tried to load. I only get a blinking LG logo and blinking buttons when on power or connected to usb. Nothing when on battery. I cannot get into recovery mode but it does go into emergency mode. I tried this unbricking method but I get this in LG update:

There is so much that could be wrong... I suggest checking to make sure you have the drivers on the computer for the phone. Make sure the v9 that you downloaded is good. There are many things to check. I know that probably isn't encouraging. If you could list out what steps you have followed to this point it would help...
Also, not to sound pessimistic, but if you have everything setup correctly and are getting this error; this would be a situation where "some forms of brick" does not apply... which seems likely based on what you are saying, but its still worth some trying!
OK, got a little farther this time. I get to 99% then I get a disconnect from phone error. The phone drops out of emergency mode and goes into a blinking LG logo loop. Still will not boot on battery or power. I also tried the ZDG software method and I can't get the converted .cab to .zdg files to extract. All checksums are correct. I also tried several other LS670 cab files (ZV7, ZV8, ZV9, and ZVD) but only the LS670ZVC gets me this far. No idea why it just quits at 99%. See attached output file. Just did this method to try and unbrick my old rooted LG Optimus S that someone did the factory data reset on. Everything went pretty darn smoothly (after I restarted the process a few times and got rid of the fatal LG Tool error and unstuck my phone from perma mid-download emergency mode and finally did it all right lol). The update only got to 99% but at that point I couldn't get past the Insert Battery message on the phone, so I put in the battery and it showed charging, I started the phone, and it went through the phone setup! It isn't hooked up to service so I couldn't get farther but all signs point to a successful un-brick. So thanks a ton to everyone.

I follow all of the steps from page one of this thread, but I get snagged up on #11. The LG updater never says it loses connection with my phone. It finishes the analyses tab and goes to the download tab where I get the message:
"Update is not possible any longer due to a fatal error with the LG Mobile Phone Software Update."
Do any of you all have an idea what this is? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
p.s. Yes I'm a noob that downloaded ROM manager from the market and am now living with the horrible fallout of no phone.
