Unable to create new folder

I'm rooted with aokp build 38. I'm trying to backup my nova launcher settings, but the location it's trying to back up to seems screwed up.

/sdcard/data

I can't do anything with this folder. I can't create new folders underneath it, delete, etc. I'm not sure what the issue is, does anyone have an ideas?

What exact message are you getting when you try to back up? Screenshot even would be good.

No I can't. When I try that it says the device was disconnected (even though it's not)

No error messages when trying to click backup, it just doesn't do anything. When I try to create a folder manually all I see is "Folder Creation Failed." It's like something has the folder locked, but I'm not sure what. I might try a different file explorer program and see if I get a better error message.
