Unable to flash stock JB ROM on unrooted Galaxy S advance running 2.3.6 DDLK2

Hello people. Am using a Samsung Galaxy S Advance ( GT - I9070 ) with 2.3.6 ginger bread baseband version DDLK2 Kernel version 2.6.35.7-1211839. Have been using this phone since 2012. Recently was encountering lot of call drops, slow response time, some apps not opening. So decided to Upgrade to Jelly Bean version. Tried through OTA 2-3 days back but was not available. Hence after going through some sites Downloaded the stock firmware I9070ODDLJ1 from sammobile.com. Then i also downloaded the latest ODIN v3.10.7. Followed all the instuctions properly. Odin showed pass and phone rebooted also. But when i checked the Phone status it still shows the older android version 2.3.6 with DDLK2 firmware. Basically nothing has changed. I also went in recovery mode and did a factory reset, But didnot help. Re - flashed the ROM using different versions of ODIN. Although the phone boots up, but google play and many other apps are not working . It looks like a " Soft brick". Please help asap. I dont have any other phone
