Uneven Glass

Trying to gauge whether or not this is a common problem.

The glass on my N1 somehow became uneven with the bezel of the phone. The lower right corner is now sunken below the phone casing and doesn't sit flush like the rest of the glass.

It wasn't like that last week. Basically, the entire top glass used to be nice and flush with the metal, but the lower right corner now sits below the metal. Anybody else notice this happening after a while? Pondering whether or not to give myself a brain hemorrhage trying to contact Google/HTC.

How long have you had the phone? I haven't noticed this and I've dropped mine more times than i care to count. How do you carry it and do you use a case? You may just have a defective unit in which case i would try contacting HTC about the issue.

I've had it since March 1st, kept in a case with a screen protector. Never been dropped either. Is your glass flush with the metal or does it sit semi recessed with a noticeable ridge if you run your finger over the edge? A friend of mine got his the same day and sits just a bit lower than the metal.

I have this problem with my iPhone 3GS. The entire right side of the screen is sunken in more than the left side, so you can slide your finger off the left side of the screen and its just smooth, but if you drag it off the right side, you hit the bezel.

It was very annoying for about a month, but eventually I forgot all about it. My Nexus One doesn't have this issue, though, and I bought it the day it was available with AT&T 3G. Got it two days later.

I think I'm going to hold off calling them just yet and see how it goes. Maybe wait for the inevitable "dust under the screen" issue to send it in.

Opposite Problem

I was prompted to come here searching after reading the article on Gizmodo about the EVO's screen "peeling" away from the phone. I was kind of surprised to see that your screen is actually below the bezel. My Nexus One's screen has always felt like the bottom left corner is higher than the bezel. The top left and right corners both feel quite a it higher than the metal to the point there I can feel the sharp corner of the glass, and the bottom right corner is barely flush, possibly raised a fraction of a millimeter. Coming from the iPhone 3GS I thought this was weird. I guess because there's not really a bezel per se other than the chrome ring so it's not as easy to tell if the glass is above or below that bezel unless it's dramatic. Back to the N1. I want to say that it feels spongy when I press down on those raised corners but then I think it might be my mind playing tricks on me, looking for something to be wrong. Just my cents, anyone else having these issues?

The screen on my T-Mo Nexus is flush all the way around but it is only about 3 weeks old. Reading this though will make me paranoid about checking it now ;-)

my nexus is exactly like this as well, and it wasnt like this when i first got it. however, the lower right side is just BARELY sunken lower, its almost so small to even notice. its never gotten any worse, so i just figure its the manufacturing materials, and that's just the way it is.

the top are both fine, and the bottom left is fine, with the bottom right just a tad bit lower. no big deal really. and no, i dont have any movement or sponge feeling when i press on it. nice and solid.

Yep, spongy with a little give is how it started. Then it just started sinking down and not coming back up. I had it replaced by HTC a couple weeks ago and thus far, the new unit hasn't displayed this problem.
