Welcome to Android Central! Does it only say "Unfortunately Google Play has stopped working," or does it specifically say "Google Play Services has stopped working"? Or is it some other Google Play app, like the Play Store, Google Play Games, etc.?

For other recent posters in this thread who have been having issues, does it still happen in Safe Mode? On most Android devices, while powered on, press and hold Power until the Power Off menu appears. Press and hold the Power Off selection until the Safe Mode prompt appears. Tap OK. (For the Note5 and other Samsung devices, follow these steps instead: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-27639)

If the problem disappears in Safe Mode, then something you installed is causing the problem. You may have to uninstall apps one by one until the problem disappears. If the problem persists in Safe Mode, then it's more likely to be a hardware or firmware problem.

Welcome to Android Central! Have you read through all of the posts in this thread yet? Which phone do you have? What else have you tried to fix the problem?

'Unfortunately, google play services has stopped' problem still persists in safe mode

Hi,

Thanks for this but unfortunately it didnt work. I'm still getting the same error message. Any other suggestions?

I'm currently having the same issue. Seems like the more active i am the worse it gets. Moto G3. All updates, tried above fixes, etc.

A last resort effort fix here folks..

If you don't use anything Google app related like Google music, Google books, etc, this works. I just did it. It disables you as device admin tho.. soon.. do at your own risk. I assume no fault for you maybe having to factory reset for whatever reason if this doesn't work/goes wrong somehow..

Settings -> search (in top right) -> type in Device administrator and hit enter/search -> click device administrator -> turn off the current admin.

Then go back to settings -> applications manager -> applications -> click Google play service -> click disable -> agree that it'll cease certain functions (Google music, books, etc..)

Boom fixed.

Enjoy your freedom from a bull**** issue that should have been fixed AGES ago..

Unfortunately google play services has stopped. It always appear on my starmobile engage7tv, all the methods on how to fix I already done but nothing happened it keeps on appearing on my screen and I'm getting impatient because of this. Anyone help me this please?

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Does this persist after a reboot? How about in Safe Mode?

I have a moto g that was factory reset by previous owner. I have not been able to login to any google apps at all as I get the google play services has stopped message after the screen to accept terms and conditions. I have tried all fixes above and it is the same in safe mode. Also I have an old version of google play services and I can't upgrade without signing in. In about phone it says there are no updates available
