"Unfortunately, Messaging has stopped" Error

I have a moto E (2nd gen) and I also got that error message. What worked for me was to clear some of the conversations I had with people (around 4,000 texts). Then going to SETTINGS---APPS---ALL---MESSAGING---CLEAR CACHE---CLEAR DATA. Then turn phone off, turn phone on. All good.

Did you have to download anything extra to get it working? I only have the Samsung Keyboard option and that is not an option to disable or change?

Install "Android System WebView" from playstore and your messages should work.
