Hey guys,

I just bought an HTC one yesterday, and I cannot figure out what one of the symbols is in my notification bar. 8568Ua7.jpg

It's the symbol to the left of bluetooth. I'd really like it to go away.

Thanks!

That is your GPS or location services. Just swipe down the top bar, hit the icon on top right and the GPS toggle will be on the bottom.

I don't believe it is. When I open up an app that uses GPS, I get a totally different icon in addition to the one I've mentioned.View attachment 79279

I actually think that's non-gps location services (i.e., cell tower and wifi). Mine's always on like yours since I leave those on. You can verify by going to Settings, Location and seeing if you have the bottom box checked.

I always thought that was the e911 setting. Meaning your locations are being transmitted for 9-1-1 or other location based support. I haven't had VW in a while but you can probably turn it off in phone settings.
