Unlocked Pixel on Verizon - Wifi Calling or not?

Hi, I just moved my account from ATT to Verizon mainly because I won't use iOS, and Pixel is my favorite Android phone, which ATT will not fully support (HD Voice, Wifi calling, Visual voicemail)

I currently have the original Pixel - Verizon version, that I had been using on ATT. I am now on Verizon, and want to upgrade to the Pixel 2 and would like to purchase the unlocked version from Google. With the good trade-in price at the Google store, there isnt much of a difference in price between purchasing from Google and Verizon, except that purchasing at Verizon means I have to deal with bill credits.

Question is that if I buy the unlocked version from the Google store, do I miss out on advanced features such as HD Voice, Wifi Calling, Visual Voicemail? I read in the S9 forum that you HAVE TO buy the verizon version of that phone to have all features enabled!

Anyone using the unlocked version on Verizon that can confirm?

Thanks

No....both versions of the phone are the same except the Verizon version has a locked bootloader. The Verizon features will work fine.

I have the unlocked Pixel 2 XL on Att, I have both HD voice and visual voicemail. Don't have WiFi calling though.

I have the Pixel 2 unlocked version using Verizon and have HD and WiFi calling. Have never used Visual Voicemail but it is available, I just choose not to pay for it

As others have said -- Yep. WiFi calling will work fine.

Thanks for your responses. one day on Verizon, and I am very happy. HD voice is amazing. Ordered the unlocked panda pixel XL. Should be here Wednesday :)

I am using an unlocked Panda on Verizon and I use WiFi calling all of the time. It works as intended.

That's only if you're on Google Fi isn't it? I've never seen it on Verizon (unless you want to pay extra).

Visual Voicemail, WiFi Calling, VoLTE/HD Voice all work on Verizon as they are supposed to.

See below (next post) for the Voicemail in the dialer.

Visual Voicemail in Dialer.

Visual Voicemail
Thanks, I'm a regular user of Voicemail in the Phone (aka Dialer) application but that is not Visual Voicemail and I don't see anywhere that such a feature is available from Google on Verizon.
Edit: I see that it SAYS 'Visual Voicemail' in the Settings but all it ever does is play the audio recording back.

That is 110% Visual Voicemail. Hence the fact that you can see it (Visual) and it is voicemail. Visual Voicemail means you don't have to call in like you did in the past and go through phone menus (i.e. "Press 1 to delete, 2 to save" etc.

It sounds like you are talking about Voicemail-to-text -- that is different from Visual Voicemail.
