A New Tablet From Acer Challenges iPad on Price - WSJ.com

The Iconia gets no respect here on AC (because Phil has a Transformer and/or Acer won't send him an evaluation unit to test), but it gets top billing over All Comers in the wall street journal.

I have been putting the Iconia Tab through its paces, and, in my view, it offers the best value of any Android tablet on the market. Whileit doesn't beat either iPad overall, the Iconia Tab offers a decent alternative to Apple, especially for multimedia enthusiasts who want to display their content on a TV, PC or smartphone without additional gear.

Agreed. I'm a little miffed that we are relegated to a subforum in "other tablets", even though the Iconia outsold the Xoom and the TF. It certainly deserves to be listed alongside the other major tablets, some of which have main forums without even being released yet. I'm not saying it's the best tablet on the market, but the hardware is solid and it certainly has advantages that some of the others do not.

Cory/Phil, where's the Iconia love? Can you at least explain why we're not billed alongside the others? You'd think with a million sold we'd get some respect. It's not like the Iconia is a Coby, an Archos, or some cheap Chinese knockoff.

If it's because you haven't received one to review, talk to me and I'll loan you mine. AC is, IMHO, the most respected and comprehensive Android resource on the web. We need more exposure if we are to get more consumer recognition and dev support and AC can help that if other AC forum readers see us with the other major players.

Agreed, I'm here in NY on holiday and went into best buy to buy a xoom. Didn't even know the Iconia even existed as I've been looking on AC for months and didn't see any reviews. Anyway, why on earth pay the extra $ for the xoom?
Can't really fault honeycomb either, I think it's getting bad press for no real reason. The average user won't have any problems with it in its infancy. 99% of my apps from my HTC Desire HD work fine as well.
Happy days :-)

So come on admin, give this tablet the credit it deserves!

Lol guys. Being in a subforum is not because we don't love it. I just can't fit every device in the index without it getting enormous. I'll put it up front just for you though :)

LOL, Thanks Cory, glad to see my begging on Twitter worked. :) I just think being up front will bring us more recognition in the community. I certainly appreciate it!

Btw, I'm not sure if the statement about Phil not having one from Acer to review is accurate or not, but my offer is still open to send mine to him if it can get a write up from AC. I'll factory reset it and even pay return shipping. :)

Thanks again!

It must have been meant to be because me checking my Twitter account was a total fluke lol. I am just not a Twitter person I guess.
