I really wish my Epic 4G was my primary phone, just to see if the EI22 update fixed my horrible battery issues. I can't say for certain since I no longer have cell service. So, keep in mind that my stats reflect the distinct absence of any cell standby services.

I left my phone uncharged from when I went to bed and checked when I left for work this morning. Attached are the screenshots of the battery discharge. Went from 100% to 97% in this time. I think that's pretty good idle for the time left unplugged.

Would love to see some shots of "real" usage. This will give everyone an idea of what is using the system and how much of that time actually is "screen on" time.

BTW, the phone is rooted with ACS Recovery and has ACS ICS v2 installed.

I wish I knew how to screenshot mine, but I can tell you I'm getting 22 hours since last charge with, based on my battery widget, 40% remaining. I've gotten pretty much everything reinstalled at this point I want and I couldn't be happier.

Screen shot can only be done via root/screen shot from the Market.

That is a huge increase in battery... I hope everyone is getting better battery, maybe when I finally manually update my wife's Epic this weekend she will finally be happy.

Hey Gara, go to the Market and get "Drocap2 for root users" by Drocap. It's free and easy to use.

I use either screen shot from the Market and I still have my copy of Shoot Me which is no longer available which did a nice job too...

Anyways, here's a screen shot of my Batt use. Not bad. Don't pay attention to the batt on the right. Look at the one on the left. This was regular use. Wifi on all the time, never left the house, about 50 txt messages, always checking my email and Fbook on Dolphin browser HD. :)

BOOM! I've, of course, got it hooked up to the PC and charging so I won't get to see how far it would go (going camping tonight so I need the juice anyway). For me, this is basic use you could say. I had several phone calls, 20-30 texts, uninstalling/reinstalling apps, and some internet time, along with streaming video. I would leave my GPS off to conserve battery, but I might be able to leave it on now.

Wasn't there a brief moment on a Froyo release where screen capture was included, anyone check if it came back? I'm guessing it didn't. It was the 1 key and home button or something like that. I bet Paul remembers.

On a different note, I must say the screen capture implementation on the CM7 ROM IS AWESOME, does anyone know how it's accomplished? Is it just built into GB or is it an app added into the ROM? Shoot Me would make my phone rescan the SD card after every screen capture, the CM7 one does not.

The screen shot option was on Froyo, DK28 leak if I remember correctly...

Holding the home key and press Back if I remember correctly... Its been quite a while.

You will have to refresh my memory on CM7 for the Epic... Was is the screen shot option accessible from the Power Off menu?

Yeah you hold the power button, the menu pops up and one of the options is screen capture.

Sad to say I don't see much if any improvement in battery life. The only things I sync are google mail, calender and addresses. The only widget I use is a calender. I took the phone off the charger this morning at 7am now (12:18) it's at 45%.

My daughter hates gingerbread as she says her battery life has gone way down. She used to make it all day at school on a single charge. When she called me to pick her up, she had to use her friends phone because hers was completely drained.

Shouldn't be that bad... Could be you need to run through a few complete charge/discharge cycles to get it calibrated better...

Simple when your rooted, you can boot into CWM and wipe battery stats and essentially recalibrate your battery so its more accurate.

Plus check your processes running Keith.. GB might have some new stuff running that wasn't running previously chewing up some battery your unaware of...

Overall most people have said battery is better...

Yes gingerbread does have more stuff running. Many of the processes that could be closed with froyo can't be closed with gingerbread.

I have five batteries for the two epics. We already completly drain our batteries before swapping them out. We never plug our phones in to charge. We have 3 stand alone chargers. Since we never charge the batteries until they are fully drained and never take them off the charger until fully charged, shouldn't they stay in calibration?

between the two of us, we cycle through all five batteries every day.

Wow... Something isn't right there.. I remember when I used to run stock even testing new releases for a few days I had so so battery but never to the point of multiple batteries/charges throughout the day...

I don't know what to make of all this... I really don't...

40 minutes later (12: 58) I'm at 32%.

Hell, even my extra thick 3500mAh battery barely lasted 9 hours.
