UnRevoked??

Not for full root no, it will go away after a reboot. I haven't tested as I obviously don't have a TB but it should work :p

Dylan, why would anybody want temporary root access? lol

Would you temporarily root your device?

I am just waiting for unrEVOked. Even if it takes a few weeks, don't really want to risk bricking a $250 and 2 year investment haha.

I'm new at this, but would guess someone would want a temporary root so they can remove the bloatware as a one-time deal and then have it revert so you can't unintentionally screw something else up by accident later on.

Just being devil's advocate.

No Dice :'(
Just posted this in the Z4root thread also:

I tried.... 5 times for perm root and 3 times for temp root before I gave up. Even tried uninstalling and reinstalling... actually I had to uninstall a few times because it froze on me :)

On perm root: Got to "aquiring root shell" once, and the rest of the tries I couldn't get past "running exploit in order to obtain root access".

On temp root: It would go past "running exploit in order to obtain root access" and then stop at "aquiring root shell".

Oh well....I tried.

using the video posted for the perm root and cmd.exe commands, adb was not that bad. however, some commands didnt take and it took a few reboots and retrying push superuser to get full perm root, but i am so happy i have root now. all those uneeded programs are gone. i have setcpu running so i am not at full cpu speed, its great. now i am just debating getting rid of sense because i kind of like it.

Well, Brett, maybe so you can run Titanium backup and no loose your stuff. Duh ;)

We have the same issue on the evo when it comes to temp root, some people evo's could temp root and run TB/ wireless tether and others couldnt. One thing that helped people was to factory reset, then run Z4, but that would kinda defeat the purpose here wouldnt it haha.

Im personally anti-unrevoked, due to them being closed source and its messed up some evo's in the past. But hey, each to their own :p
