Okay, rooted my phone a while back and figured I would reset it back to day one or as close as possible. Everything is backed up, I formatted my sd card, and then ran the factory reset. I then found a post somewhere that said do not run factory reset if rooted.

So now my phone seems to be back to day one minus a few apps, superuser is the only one that I can tell for sure isn't supposed to be there.

So now I am not sure what my next step should be to make sure I get unrooted and hopefully get rid of the superuser.

Thanks for any advice,
Bitphire

from clockwork recovery, install optimus v zv9 update. it will upgrade phone and put you back to stock, unrooted state completely. ill see if I can relocate the zv9 update link.

Thanks link is just sending me to virgin mobile site .. I'll keep looking and post if I find it

Found it from another thread and it's updating now. Thank you a ton for that!

This is the url I used for the file, hope it's okay that I post it.
update.zip

no you download it either through phone and move to root of sdcard so ypu can install it in recovery or ypu can download it with pc and move it to root of sdcard for install via phones custom recovery. once ypu have it on sdcard, power off phone, hold down volume down and power button until the recovery menu appears, then select install zip. navigate to sdcard and pick it and let recovery install it. then reboot phone.

ok you do have the optimus v right? if so holding down the volume down key and power key at sametime and keep holding them ahould get you into recovery. if it is installed.

like i have it on there but once i put it in the phone it no longer shows as a folder and i can't connect the phone and just put it on the phone because its showing up that it can't download the drivers for the phone(i guess since it's rooted?)

I got my phone unrooted and reset using this post. It was a little hard to piece together, but here's what worked:
1) Transfer the .zip file (http://www.virginmobileusa.com/resources/update.zip) onto your phone's SD card. Put it in the root (outermost) directory.
2) Turn off your phone. Off, not just sleeping. Pull out your battery and put it back in, just to be sure.
3) Hold down the home button, the volume down button, and the power button simultaneously. Wait until the LG logo pops up, and release. You should see the recovery menu.
4) Use your volume buttons to navigate the recovery menu. Select install zip using your home button.
5) Wait for it to install and reboot. Done, hopefully.
Hope this helps.

Actually select apply update.zip/sdcard works easier in the recovery. You have to wipe everything like you would a ROM. Reboot, then power off, home button + volume down button + power(stock recovery), select factory reset and select yes, select update.zip/sdcard and reboot. Radio image will write on second install. This will get you truly stock. No trace of root.

I'd just like to add that this should only be done from Bobz recovery.its been tested working and there were some recoverys that would brick if you tried to flash the update.

Great reminder. Think it's mainly the touch recoveries. Yes I would recommend BobZhome's cwm/iho based recovery before any other. His recovery works on both the old screens and new ones.
