Hello great android folks,

I rooted my ATT S4 w/ motochopper when the exploit was found and just unrooted yesterday using qbking77's tutorial.. which worked.. BUT, I still get the "custom" tag on startup and my phone is unable to update via kies (firmware not compatible or something)

After the unroot I was able to do the 350mb OTA update.. Just wondering if I'll be able to update to 4.3 when it becomes available..? Not interested in having root right now..

Thank you everyone in advance <3

If you got one OTA, you should get them all. I wouldn't worry so much about it.

Doesn't he need to reset the flash counter to get it back to Official Firmware. When it says custom binary it'll tell you that your phone is modified when you check for OTA updates

As far as I know, the OTA only looks for root access. My S3 was rooted and I flashed a stock ROM, never cleared the flash count. Still got an OTA. while I was rooted Kies hated my device. But that was OK....I hated Kies.

Is resetting the flash counter difficult?

From what I understand it can be easy, but you are messing around with core boot loader scripts, and could possibly damage the OS.
