I'm with ATT, so I don't have a dog in this fight. In reading the thread, it just seems wrong, though. Carriers should not mess with devices we spend this kind of money to enjoy. We should be able to enjoy it as the manufacturer intended. Or at least be able to install what the carrier decides to leave out. Alas...such is life.

Oh the carriers do that all the time and AT&T used. To be the worst. They used to remove a lot of Android features that were ridiculous. Like with Gingerbread or ICS, when being able to modify our pull down toggles came out, AT&T disabled that for us like we got nuclear codes or something.

AT&T also disabled being able to pin something in Lollipop, like your navigation or if you were watching a video, so there wouldn't be any pop up notifications covering it up.

Yeah.. That is a danger, you don't know if someone modified the app, if your phone has the security, because Verizon got no updates for it and then you put your financial information in the app.

Also some found they could do that and then suddenly Verizon seemed to have blocked it last night.

Just search on Google on how to side load it also there is talk that Verizon will support it officially soon

I received a callback from Verizon on my FCC Complaint. They claim that Samsung wanted to preload devices with the software, and they weren't comfortable with that. They will make SamPay available to customers when Samsung makes it available for download through the app store.

Any validity to this?

This validates what the GM of Samsung Pay tweeted last week which seemed a bit sketchy as people questioned the tweet because the app is not in the app store.

With that said, Samsung already pre-loads a ton of stuff on their devices but this exclusion removes functionality that we all should have.

Hope they figure it out soon! I was getting a little mad because we were going to miss out on the free wireless charger, but you can keep that garbage. The samsung wireless charger is riddled with problems, and doesn't work worth a darn. The samsung fast wireless charger, on the other hand, is worth its weight in copper.

Actually, many have gotten the responses posted here including myself. But Samsung Pay doesn't actually work to make a purchase because Verizon is somehow blocking the Samsung Pay app from completing the authorization of the card even though it can initially reach your bank and the bank acknowledges the card being authorized by them to Samsung Pay. What everyone I have heard about gets only part of the authorized electronic card number. Trying to activate the app for an actual purchase fails because the fingerprint reader never activates.

Yea, well I for one will not believe it until it happens. My guess is if we get it, it will be after Oct 11, so Verizon can screw us out of another promotion

Seems Verizon has seen the light, and has agreed to bring Samsung Pay to the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+, and Galaxy Note 5 !

Samsung Pay will arrive in a software update, date not yet determined...

I honestly don't believe Verizon will truly support samsung pay. Yes they said they will with a "future" update. No firm date, nothing. They just said they will at some point to get their customers off their back. Don't count on ever getting Samsung pay until you actually get it. When a company makes statements without firm dates or information, don't count on it.

Yea, now the question is if Verizon will release the update on or before Oct. 11.

What's so special about October 11th? Samsung has a deal going, where if users sign up for Samsung Pay on or before October 11, they get their choice of a free Pi Charger, or carrying case.

Anyways, I don't care that much about the charger or case, I'm really thrilled that Verizon is doing the right thing, and allowing it's customers to have Samsung Pay!
