update failed while Rooting bootloader screen HELP PLEASE!

No I cant.

Something is def weird here, b/c up until this point you're not altering anything on the phone except some version information and if the overall update failed you should be able to boot back in.

Can you get in to recovery from the fastboot menu?

Sorry kind of lost now..when it gives me the list:
fastboot
recovery
clearstorage
simlock
hboot usb
which one are you suggesting I click on fastboot or recovery?

now im getting the red triangle should my cable be plugged in?

Alright, that's fine - I just wanted to see where you were at here. Now you didn't get a chance to flash the old version of recovery so we won't be able to force any files in.

Can you plug in your USB, open a command window (edit, in your SDK folder) and type

adb devices

Ok I am a TOTAL NOOB when it comes to stuff like this. Could u explain how I get there. I know to run a command prompt I have to shift right click a file. Where can I find the sdk folder?

The same way you used it with the guide before. Wherever you extracted the folder to.

The C\:evoroot file correct? Do I press enter afterwards? I dont want to mess anything up worst that it already is!

Ok great. I think we should bring your evo back to stock and start over. You can go ahead and turn your phone off and charge it up while you download the 3.7 file from here: Index of /evo/stock/

this is a rom update utility from HTC that will restore your evo to factory. After its done downloading start your phone back up to fastboot and choose recovery, plug it in and after 5 seconds start that exe file. It will guide you through the steps, you really just hit ok and wait for a few minutes .

You can get the zip file from the same location And erase the file named PC36IMG.zip that is on your sdcard right now. Download the new file, rename it PC36IMG.zip and put it on your sdcard. Then flash it from the bootloader, like the original part you were stuck at.
