Update question for Droid Maxx XT1080M

If I get a used Droid Maxx XT1080M that was deactivated when it was on Jellybean and it gets re activated will it get the automatic update to KitKat or will it have to be manually done? If manually where would it be found? Thanks

I believe that as long as you reactivate in Verizon, the phone will get the proper system update. Carrier-specific phones typically won't get the official system update if you bring the phone to a different carrier.
