I've already received my replacement phone so this problem is behind me now but I figured I'd let people know that the update could potentially destroy your phone.
Applied the update last Friday night and immediately lost 4G. In an attempt to correct the problem, I did the following:
Power cycles
Battery pulls
Sim Card and battery pull
Leaving phone off overnight
Factory reset
New Sim Card
Tech support reprogramming (whatever it is they do)
Ultimately, nothing corrected the problem and I was sent a replacement. Upon receiving it, I swapped SIM cards and was immediately back to a strong 4G signal.
There have been a few other reports from people experiencing the same issue but it doesn't appear to be widespread. In addition to no 4G, I was constantly dropping my 3G connection. I did happen to notice that if I set the phone to use 3G only, my connection didn't drop out.
