Updated and lost root? 1 click root is working

please help got replacement phone not rooted had up date on it cant get it to root please help me I need root access droid bionic 5.5.893.xt875 verizon,en,us
have tried 1 click ,pete root no luck and tried others

This fixed my .893 root issue, thanks!!!!!

Is there a way to block OTA updates on the bionic until I am ready for an update?

Does this work on the latest OTA sent on 12-20-11?

I guess I'm stupid, I can't figure out how to run this file. Do you put it on your phone or computer (mac).
I have it on my mac and trying to use ADB , but keep getting something that says ADB command not found, or something like that

I have a quick question: is there a way to undo this root method? I'm on 5.5.893, I've never done a root before, and I tried Pete's with no success. I'm ready to dip my toes in, but I don't want to do anything I don't know how to undo relatively easily.

Thanks!

Great question. I was hoping I could use Pete's one click root tool to unroot if need be. I probably should've asked first.

Anybody know how to unroot this method?

Please let me know if anyone has any input on the unroot situation ...looks as though mine needs to be returned.

worked like a charm... click the "runme" folder in the unzipped package to get this to work lol... by the way, does this "forever root" my phone or is that something else that i will have to do so that i never lose root again? If it is can someone send a link that shows how to forever root? thanks

I had updated and lost root access. This worked for me! Thanks. I appreciate those of you that post threads and help us on these forums.

I'm not sure if this is the program i need;
i started the runme fileand pressed a key to run it, and it said:

"
[*] Waiting for device...
* daemon not running. starting it now *
* daemon started successfully *
"

then it just stays there and nothing happens
I was not rooted before this. My phone is 5.5.893 and pete's one click didnt work. Is this something for recovering a phone that was rooted previously? Please help, i cant find anything that will root my phone:'(

Ok so this is what happened for me. Maybe someone can offer me some insight. So i had the stock .866 on my bionic and had root. Everything was fine. Then .893 finally loaded for me. Some apps still had root and some did not. So I went through the 1 click method to get root back. It would start fine and then not complete. Tried again and I would get the same issue. SO I then found R3l3AS3DRoot file. Tried that and I would get a similar error that root was not obtained.
Decided to try option 1 which is Restore, Root, and 4EVER Root a bionic.

I held down the Volume down button and push power to enter AP fastboot mode. plugged in my phone
Went through the steps listed and when it reboots It goes back into AP Fastboot mode. It now says AP Fastboot (flash failure) and anytime i reboot my phone it starts off at AP Fastboot screen. I have to turn off then press both buttons go into boot loader and pick normal boot up to get it to boot. Once booted it seems to work fine. I thought my phone was defective so Verizon switched it out, but the same exact thing occurred on the second phone also. I still do not have root.

Any help or insight would be very appreciated

Same happened with mine... you are rooted. Download root checker from the market and you will see that you have root.
