Updated ICS schedule

While I am sure ICS will be fantastic on the Rezound, it is pretty sweet phone as it is right now. It is clearly better than any of the Moto phones. The Nexus is not the same thing imho. ICS will come soon enough, but Don't lose sight of the fact that the Rezound is the best phone in the Verizon lineup and will be until the Quads hit the stores late this year.

The rzound is hugely underrated. IMO. The droid incredible was too. Had my Dinc stock till buying the rezound. I think if they, developers, can reroute temp root to debloat the rezound it will make better. But I think for me I got the better choice of phone at upgrade time, considering all offerings.

Also had the Dinc until buying the RZ a couple of weeks ago. Am still amazed at what I am learning about the RZ.

Everybody always said HTC run late with their updates, but who is better? Certainly not Motorola or Samsung. On a non-Nexus device, I still think HTC has a better chance of putting ICS on their devices before anyone else.

Moto has been on the ball w/ the Razr updates. Judging from vids that made the rounds of the oem skinned ICS. Motos concoction has been seen in, in beta on the Razr already. HTC had it leak on the unreleased Ville. I wouldn't get excited or ahead of yourself til you see it on a Sensation or another device slated for the March upgrade.

I agree but my experience with Motorola was the DROID 2 that constantly randomly rebooted but they didn't release a software update to fix ANY issues with for 9 months. I finally got tired of it, sold it and got the Thunderbolt, which even though it had its issues, it got software updates every couple of months. Motorola may have gotten better in the last half of 2011 and now 2012, but I wasn't impressed with them during the first half of 2011.

Currently I'm running a stock Rezound and very happy with it, even without ICS.

Well, this is what our ICS is looking like:
Mystery HTC Ice Cream Sandwich phone for Verizon surfaces

The only thing I'm wondering is if this is the "HTC Fireball" I keep hearing about. The 4G logo is definitely Verizon.

I'd say Fireball but good grief, what is up w/ HTC specs. on these unreleased units. Improve one spec, lessen another, in return. I would think they'd wanna keep moving the bar up in light of what's coming from other oems. Even if it's an S4, why a 1.2ghz Snapdragon?

Uh certaintly Moto!!! Moto has always updated their devices far before HTC. In fact Moto was the first to update their devices to Froyo AND Gingerbread. You can't deny the facts.

IIRC the Droid X was supposed to ship with GB, but ended up shipping with Froyo and getting GB a month later.

Of course for updates after that I'm no use, I was on my own update schedule haha

I think this phone is gonna be a lower tier 4G phone. With those specs, there's no reason to pick it over the Rezound. Also, I can't believe how ugly our official ICS is gonna be. Dear lord.
Can't wait til devs grab the official release and de-Sense it for us.

I think you mean the DROID X? , the OG DROID X actually launched with Ecl?ir 2.1 & then was updated to FroYo & Gingerbread

The EVO 4G got FroYo few days before the DROID X , but the X was the 3rd phone to get Gingerbread in the US after the Nexus S & the ATRIX 4G

Does anybody else thinks that Sense 4.0 kinda looks like a downgrade from 3 & 3.5 ?

The real facts are that the HTC Thunderbolt was the very first VZW 4G phone to ever get the Gingerbread update. All the other "firsts" were 3G phones. And the TBolt's "MR4" (Gingerbread) was the 4th major update in about 7 months. Pretty damned good track record if you ask me.

Thank you for providing the correct info :)

Personally I hope it never gets it. I don't want chrome, I like flash and am perfectly happy with this version. The phone is crisp and clear on calls, the player capabilities are great especially with playerpro. I can't imagine a single advantage to ICS. So far it appears Google is using that platform to become another Apple, forcing us to accept what they want us to have and removing choice.

Exactly. The best performance/battery life I ever got on my DINC was when I first got it and was running Android 2.1. I had it tuned to a tee, was running 2 days between charges and was happier than a pig in &^%*. Then the OTA's started and not one of them ever made the phone better. I would have refused all of them if given the choice. The first Froyo basically bricked the phone for 2-3 months until another OTA came out that partially fixed it. With all the "upgrades" it has never performed even close to what it was under 2.1. And neither Froyo or Gingerbread or any of the other OTA's gave me any extra functionality that I actually wanted or used.

They should make it like Windows Update. So you have a choice of applying the updates or not. Don't push it to my phone and shove it down my throat. If I want it I'll go get it.

" It is clearly better than any of the Moto phones."
LOL!! Ever heard of the Razr? Best on VZW at this time.

You guys are all entertaining. The Rezound is a great phone, I owned the T-bolt and was happy with it, but I bought the Nexus. It took me two weeks to root and install a custom ROM. How stupid, should have did it day one. Android 4.0 makes gingerbread seem ancient, that is no joke. Everything about 4.0 is better, don't kid yourselves. I get anywhere from 12-20 hours on my Nexus, couldn't touch that with my T-bolt. It's lighter, slimmer, screen is incredible, it's just better in every way, except for the RADIO. Thank god I live in Chicago and get coverage everywhere. Point being, I will not buy another HTC product again until battery life improves, and they offer an unskinned 4.0 phone with social integration, because HTC is great at that. I am thinking the SGSIII will be a beast, hope they just improve their radios.
