Updated to MD4...Now No More Brightness Adjust Below 15% Battery?

Previously, the battery would get down to 15% and then the screen would auto-adjust to the lowest brightness setting, presumably to save battery power. However the brightness slider and 'auto' checkbox would still be available in the pull-down shade, allowing for max brightness. Now that I've done the OTA update to MD4, the brightness slider and auto checkbox disappear at 15% battery, prohibiting me from making any brightness adjustments during this 'below 15% battery' state. I've tried turning off the power-saving mode, and still no luck. Is there a setting somewhere to get this back for below 15% battery life? My gut tells me 'no'.

Thanks for any thoughts or advice!

I never let my battery get that low, so I haven't noticed this.

If you go to Settings / Display / Brightness can you override it there?

Indeed it is, ha also forgot that I am running wicked sensations version 4.0, still based on MD4 but a custom rom.

Nope there's nothing there for settings on this function (or rather lack thereof)...I have two batteries plus an external charger so i always have one ready to go, making the now-mandatory power-saving feature of auto-dim useless for me.

If this is a global change affecting everyone's phone, then it's the second instance of Samsung narrowing the customization options: first was side-zoom in the stock web browser going away, now this. I'm a UX designer myself and I can't imagine why they would spend the effort to remove functionality when the existing was a toggle/slider for users to customize their experience. I'm sure it took much more work to originally design this than it did to remove it...just can't see the logic!

Strange. Maybe next weekend I'll load the stock MD4 and see if this is the case for me. If so, I agree it seems odd, but I suppose the easy answer is to swap batteries before you hit 15%.

Yep, just so: I'm just dealing with it until the battery goes dead, then I do the swap. It's not a huge deal, but the principle of it irks me...hence, I'm on the internet complaining :) And please let me know if you find the same limitation on the stock MD4, thanks!

I did notice that this behavior kicks in at 5%, not 15.
