Updated to Nougat, now S7 doesn't show who messaged (SMS) in notification bar.

Howdy, I just updated to Nougat and I've already ran into some issues.

The new notification bar is quite nice, but it does not show who exactly messaged through the Samsung SMS app. I'll post a screenshot of exactly what displays as soon as I can.

I checked all the settings and the new notification settings and I can't find anything that tells how to enable it.

Have you tried switching to Google Messages?

No I haven't. Just trying to get this fixed before adding another app. But I definitely won't scratch the off the options list.

I realize I am a little late, but you can fix this by going to:

Settings > Lock screen and security > Notifications on lock screen > Content on lock screen and select show content.
