I still think the first evo kicks ass. When the 3d came out at first it had of course the usual bugs, now that its been out for a while im guessing most of those bugs have been worked out so it might be just as good, especially since the 3d will be getting new updates and the original Evo wont anymore. I haven't followed the 3d, most of the people that switched to it weren't very nice to the people who still had this Evo so i chose not to follow it so i wouldn't become like them.

You can check out the 3d forum on this site though, do research to help make your decision :P

If you want a phone that kicks ass, get the Galaxy S 2. Best phone out right now. My friend has one, the thing is ridiculously fast.

I have a WHILE before I can upgrade from my Evo. Lucky me I still enjoy it. However if I had the chance to upgrade today I think I would try to Motorola Photon. :) But that's just me. But the Galaxy S2 is beautiful! Sigh.

Having been a fan of HTC since the Hero, the recent debacle with Evo's GB upgrade (camera use freezes, generic icons, etc...) has soured me. Samsung's Galaxy SII looks amazing. The oversaturated screen is a turn-off, however, it's superior camera/video recorder might trump it for me... Even TouchWiz looks promising...

With my upgrade a year away, I'm willing to pay for a new phone with a penalty.

Will the Evo's GB be fixed soon? Is there another HTC Evo in the wing? Thanksgiving?

i'm in the same boat. i'm tired of the low space warning "bug"on my Evo, and it's time to move on. i definitely want something kick ass, like the Evo was when it first came out.

i don't need to stay with HTC, but i do want something fantastic.

I paid full price for a Galaxy S II last night and so far am not having any regrets. The screen is gorgeous compared to the bluish, washed-out EVO. (You can adjust the saturation, too.) The Nexus Prime is going to be Verizon-only, so if you want to stay with Sprint, the GS2E4GTWTFBBQ is the pinnacle of win at the moment.

1. nobody knows for sure if the Nexus Prime will be Verizon-only. we shall soon see.
2. a new HTC superphone (EVO HD?) with ice cream sammmmmich should be coming soon (Thanksgiving?).
3. the Galaxy S II is a nice phone but IMO the resolution is a deal breaker and a big let down. compare the tightness of the pixels and the icons vs. other phones. look at the same web page on both phones - you get significantly less web page viewable on the SGII despite the larger display size.
4. the whites on the GSII are not white. they are yellowish and washed out. compare them. another deal breaker.
5. for normal operations - the GSII did not feel any faster than the EVO 4G

IMO - wait for the ice cream sammmmich phones. coming very soon.

Do any of you guys have any experience with the Motorola Photon? Engadget gave it a great review (with the exception of a few small flaws in the camera) and I was thinking about swapping my EVO for one, the specs look so much better.

Sprint iPhone as soon as I can get up the scratch to get one. I have 100+ days left for a $150 credit

I would wait. If you grab the S2 or the Photon, it's going to be quickly replaced by newer and better. I would give it 2-3 months and wait, maybe even for an ICS device.

My upgrade is not until July, so I'm hoping the stars align and there is some device that has ICS and the new Sprint LTE (since i dont have wimax where I live), preferrably an EVO.

Yea l know i want the same screen size as my Evo.
The screen size is a must for me, i want sacrifice smaller screen
For faster/hardware..
And its gonna have ICS too....
And its got to b with Sprint..

The Evo HD is tha only thing thats probally gonna meet what i want...

I love my EVO but I feel that it is time to move on and I want the galaxy s2 on Sprint the camera is amazing even in a club at night. I am not eligible to upgrade until Jun 2012 and I am not willing to pay 600 for the phone. Isn't it the same cost if I pay penalty then resign up to get the gs2?

OK, lots of things to consider:
1. Sprint going to 4G LTE in 2012.
2. Ice Cream Sammich
3. I'm not eligible for upgrade until June 2012.
4. My EVO still rocks.
I don't see the upgrade from an EVO 4G as being too significant in my everyday life (as opposed to upgrading from a HERO to an EVO 4G) so I'm going to be patient. I haven't seen too much on the EVO HD and don't anticipate it being compatible with the LTE network yet. (This whole LTE thing needs to shake out soon.) For that reason, I think it makes no sense whatsoever to upgrade until they start coming out with LTE compatible phones.

Bottom line is that while my left brain says "upgrade", my right brain is saying to wait until April or May to really start looking at an upgrade.
