Upgrade Now or Wait? The $1,000,000 Question!

If you wait you will be graced with a few more noteworthy options:

1. The new Nexus phones (of which there are two and believed to be constructed by HTC).
2. The LG V20 which will come with Nougat out of the box (something no other phone will have when the V20 launches).
3. The new iPhones. It's possible this won't even be in your list of considerations, especially given the omission of the headphone jack and a frankly hideous design (at least in my opinion) but it's something you might want to consider (Apple are pretty good at hiding the more interesting features for their press events).
4. Huawei Mate S2. If the software isn't a trashy iOS ripoff like it usually is then it will no doubt be a compelling device.

Wildcard guess: Another HTC phone. Perhaps a successor to the A9 but that's pure speculation on my behalf.

I'm waiting on the Marlin to see what it brings to the table. I don't see LG as any better at updates than Samsung. Plus, they've had some hardware issues of late that put me off. So I seem to be limited to choices 1 and 3 from your list. Unless the fabled Google Pixel phone becomes reality. (I'm not holding my breath).

OP, I love your Star Wars reference there. Well done!

Well, I understand that you want to upgrade now - I get that upgrade itch too and it's all but unbearable! - but if you are hesitating about the 10 and are sort of thinking about the Edge, maybe that also means that you want to take more time to make your choice in general? If you wait a few months and the new releases come out, you'll know for sure what those specs are/what prices they'll be/etc.; so you'd be in a better position to make a more informed choice.

However, those are my two cents. Do what you feel is best! :)
