ok i've looked thru the threads looking for an answer to this but no one has answered it.

if i do a upgrade transfer to pre-order the S3 and decided before the 14 day return window, and switch to a rezound (wife/daughter each have rezound), do i still keep my unlimited plan or would i have to suck it up and switch to family shared plan to switch to the rezound?

Someone feel free to correct me if I am wrong, but I think you would have to buy the Rezound at full retail price in order to keep your unlimited plan.

That sounds messy, I could see them going either way. I would guess they'd say no, but I would call. Make sure they note the account if they say yes, because as we've all learned the reps can have different answers, we just dont know how much power they'll have to override the account software they use.

i was thinking since i am doing the pre order upgrade before the 28, that would flag the account accordingly and once i get the phone, you still get the 14 day window to return the phone for another + $35 return fee. i dont mind the fee if i decide i dont like the phone. i know i can live with a rezound since i steered the family that way already.

but then again, doing the family share at 10gb + 3 smart phones + 1 regular phone, i still come out the same price even if i lose the unlimited, we really dont break the 10gb threshold between 4 phones. please plus it would give the son the ability to switch to smart phone.

still rocking a original issue tbolt that has worked from day one.

guess im going to have to have a family discussion with the warden and see what we direction we should go.

I can't answer your question, but if you somehow believe you'll be happier with a Rezound than an S3, your best bet is to cancel the preorder and go get a Rezound today.

i bought the Rezound for $50 on upgrade over 6 months ago. i actually have 2 of them. it's got a great radio. close to the Maxx. but the battery life is very so-so. my guess would be, since you are returning the phone, and purchasing a new one after the June 28th cut-off, tht you would not get unlimited data should you decide to buy it. keep in mind though, that the S3 would have warranty, and should you have radio problems, then they will give you a new one. if you go through a few cycles like that, then they may switch you to another phone. I had a thunderbolt went through several, and then they gave me the Rezound as a warranty replacement. of course, major ymmv.

the only bad part of the rezound, my wife has the regular battery and it doesnt even last a typical work day. my daughter is using the extended battery and that works.

i am kinda digging the bigger screen (eyes are getting worse) but kinda up in the air on getting the s3 and <gasp> i dont like it overall and want to switch back to a rezound within the 14 day window.

Yeah, gotta get the extended battery then. The regular battery is only good enough for light usage.

If HTC would put bigger batteries in their devices it wouldn't be so bad.

Rezound isn't terrible with the extended battery. I would never get a HTC phone without a removable battery. Well, I did get a HTC 4.7" LTE smartphone without a removable battery but it was free no contract with trade in.
