Upgrade to S20? Or My S10 is till the king?

After the release of the S20 the S10 Series will have more of a price drop; I will then purchase an S10 something. Purchasing new provides bragging rights for less than one year, where does one gain much purchasing a new release out of the gate? What will the newly released S20 accomplish, or you desperately need accomplished, your present smartphone cannot accomplish?

With the release of the S10 series and throughout this year there have been a gazillion positive reviews and videos. Thus nothing lost purchasing a new S10 something, and compared to the S10 original price I will not be over-spending hundreds of dollars more. At the price of these new releases it reminds me of the saying "a fool and his money are soon parted".

It depends....during preorder there are great trade in offers and other extras so trading in a prior device is sometimes a great deal.

Yes, that can occur. From what I observed it does not come close to waiting a year paying a considerably lower cost for the previous years flagship.

My S10+ made me happy for the entire year and I'm sure I will be for the next 2 years also 😁

One year farther down the path toward getting newer Android releases, that's one thing.

Hi Adam,
Every couple of years purchase the previous years flagship, then one does not lose out on updates and saving themselves considerable amount of money. Hardware is not a concern, software is, it is what we interact with. Be it Android or iOS, the difference is more the OS than the hardware. We can agree there have been outstand hardware improvements, yet users interact with software more than hardware. Yes, we click on the screen and the like, but it is the software making the device experience pleasurable not the hardware. Regardless of the hardware when software is clunky not easy using then hardware does not matter. User frustration comes from software not hardware.

Well I've experienced different but it depends on a few factors and let's not forget you're buying a year old device at that point.

That's what works for you....I always recommend no matter what you believe go with what you believe to be the best for you.

True, however one is purchasing a brand new phone, may have been recently made, not a year old used phone.

Going to pick up the S20 Ultra and will trade in the Note 10. Ultra looks to be a monster spec'd phone and if Samsung can up their game in camera post processing software then this will be all round beast.

Why not wait for the Note Version? If I decide not to wait I'll most likely use my S10+ as a trade.

This year I’m going to skip the note and instead get the surface duo or fold 2 later in the year as well.

When the S20 comes out will Samsung or my phone provider (TMobile in my case) have a promotion for trade-ins? Not sure if it's a Samsung thingor all cell phone providers run the same promotion?

Is their going to be another Note Series? I thought they were doing away with Notes? My friend has the 9 and is wanting a 10 plus she says before they do away with Notes. I had read also a while back their may not be another Note Series. I had a Note 8 and didn't care for it. Not into the pen never used it my friend loves it.

They could call it something else but I don't think the "Note" will go away.

I got the s10 plus, but sold it and got the note 10 plus. Still don't use the s pen enough to warrant waiting for the Note 20. Obviously your s10 will no longer be king once the s20 is released. So as other said, its up to you to decide. No one really needs upgrade every year. But if you want that shiny new toy, then I'd say trade i the s10 and get the s20.

Hey it's a personal choice, but is waiting for the Note really that unbearable? It's more than just the Spen. Best option, get both like me and @mustang7757....lol
