Urbane 2 no cellular network available

Hello, I got my over seas Urbane 2 W200 today and it updated and pared to my Nexus 6 and installed an app on my nexus 6 that keeps it paired i guess and all that worked great. I then went to AT&T and got a plan and the kid never seen one of these and we couldn't get the phone to work it kept saying (Cellular network not available) I have turned off NumberSync and turned on 'Allow phone audio' on watch BT settings. and it still dont do anything. I go into the watchs settings/cellular/sim status and service state says out of service... ideas?
 
not sure what you mean by an "over seas" version ?

perhaps the device is locked to the network it's originally from?
 
Thats what she said... Anyway im sending it back and just getting a AT&T one... If it was locked could I unlock it?

I haven't heard of any Urbane 2 watches being locked. I purchased my AT&T version directly from the AT&T store and it was unlocked (using Truphone).

IIRC Truephone uses ATT network though right?
 
US and over seas use entirely different bands. The watch only has limited support in bands. So, it is not exactly compatible. US version supports 900/1900/2100. Overseas version probably only 850/1800/2100. Although 2100 is a common supported bands, only T-Mobile in US supports 2100 but it requires 1700 band to complete the loop (one for uplink, one for downlink). So it won't work either. US version's 2100MHz can work overseas in some countries but not all. I can't get my watch to get any signal in China in a recent trip.
