Question I pre-ordered my Nexus 7 8gb unit on June 29th at 3pm and I got my tracking info. It said that it was ready for UPS on July 9th....so wait what? Why now on the 14th do I not have a confirmed date on my UPS info as to when it will arrive?
US release date could be July 12th!

Well, at least you can see shipping info. Most of us just get the usual "your tracking number doesn't exist" nonsense (which I know is normal with UPS). It does, however, make you wonder why they were ready for shipment that early, and then sat......and sat......and sat.
I already pre ordered mine and got the email with shipping info, etc. but does anybody have any idea if and when the N7 would be available in stores without having to pre order? I was going to get one for my younger brother as a birthday present but I'd rather use a check or cash than a credit card:-$
Has anyone from Texas gotten anything yet? I'm in the Houston area, ordered 16gb on the 3rd and haven't gotten an email or been charged yet.

Check Sam's Club or Walmart if you can. I was able to get one from Sam's Club. They had 15 in stock and on the floor.
Walmarts website says its a pre-order and will be available 7/25... And don't you have to be a member to purchase from Sam's Club?
Why not? I heard it's a good tablet plus I'm getting sick of not hearing anything from google. No email no charge no nothing. All while other people are happily reporting that they were charged and their packages are going in monday.
I was calling all my local Sam's clubs and it seems the one that has them in stock is too far away.the one in Waldorf, MD has 5 in stock if anyone is interested

Well, I am posting this from my new Nexus 7. If it hadn't been for Sam's Club, I'd still be patiently waiting. And I guess I am. I still have a pre-order set to come next week.
I do have a theory about all this mess though. I think Google was aiming for a unified release, but it didn't go so hot. I have to think there is someone at Google with a confused look on their face saying "what the hell just happened."

I've never pre-ordered anything in my life. I ordered a 16GB on 7/3. No email, no update on wallet, no information from Google what so ever.
The level of incompetence demonstrated by this launch has been unbelievable. My heart goes out to anyone still waiting for even a glimmer of hope/information.
That being said...if anyone is in the Indianapolis area, most if not all Sam's Club locations have them in stock. Give them the item number (793929) as they are not yet inventoried. This means they may tell you they don't have it, but they actually do.

got tired of waiting on Google, my Sam's Club, got 5 in this morning..... Done deal... Bad part was of all the clubs in the area I go to the one that Dan Acroid was doing a promo at.... Slipped in the exit.... Not waiting in a line to see him..... Just got my tablet and left.... Cheaper than Google toooo 
If you're dissatisfied, continue to voice your concerns - it's your right as a consumer. Reddit also has a petition http://chn.ge/NmX4br which is beginning to gain some traction.
Who knows, maybe Google will listen to some of their greatest fans and try to amend the disappointment.

Your comment is right on the mark. It is like we all live on the same street and talk with each other. It is so important to manage expectations, all the way through to the delivery of the product, and be right there to manage in real time any sudden trends on the Internet that may pop up.
Well I got my shipping notification email. It was sent this morning at 1:38 am. I ordered the 8gb on July 5th. Live in Michigan. Hopefully I will see it here on Monday.

I strongly suspect that those of us that have not seen any activity in Google Wallet, on our Credit Cards, or in an email from Google will not hear anything until next week. Call me paranoid but I'd lay money that all the pre-orders don't actually make it into customers hands until the week of the 23rd. Yup it's a cluster. Those who don't see this are as bad of a fanboi (or goil) as those of the fruity company.
Where at in LA???? I'm in the NOLA area and ordered on 7/4 early in the am.... i havnt recieved anything....
